How My Dots Connected Me Through Doubts, Disappointments, and Uncertainties

My first ever sharing of my personal story is merely to remind you that things will always be okay.

I have been very blessed with wonderful opportunities, supportive colleagues, and managers who invested in my success. That said, my career path isn’t always smooth sailing. In the past few years, I had had some interesting work experiences, including a manager who thought it’s perfectly fine to email a client to check exactly “from what time to what time” my meeting took place. I was also made redundant as a result of a company reorganization and soon after realized I was 1 month pregnant.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” — Steve Jobs.

This is the quote I live by and often go back to, especially during those few months of doubts, disappointments, and uncertainties.

One thing led to another, when I was 3+ months pregnant, I was being connected by a mutual friend to my future (and now) boss Sebastian for a potential opportunity at Checkout.com. After a few more conversations, the company saw something in me and offered me my current role as the VP of Customer Success. This continues to inspire me to be even better than I think I can every day and certainly has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding work experiences in my career so far.

Checkout.com continues to grow in size, as well as in aspiration and ambition. If you want to be part of a diverse, energetic, and ambitious team, explore the opportunities at Checkout.com.

If you are interested, please send me a message.

If you are curious, I am happy to speak with you directly over Zoom and share more.

Good luck. Have fun.
